Biography

  • Dr. Fadilah Mohammed is a Senior Lecturer at the University for Development Studies (UDS) in Ghana, where she contributes to academic and research excellence in the field of Agricultural Extension. She holds both an MPhil and a PhD in Agricultural Extension, demonstrating her indepth expertise and commitment to advancing agricultural knowledge and promoting rural development. Dr. Mohammed’s research interests are wideranging and interdisciplinary, encompassing microfinance and microenterprise development, Food systems, livelihood and livelihood diversification, technology adoption, education and training, rural development, gender studies, and climate change. She has made significant scholarly contributions, with over 13 papers published in peerreviewed journals. Her work is recognized for its focus on empowering rural communities through innovative approaches to development, gender equity, and sustainable livelihoods. Her scholarship also addresses the critical intersections of gender and rural development, focusing on how education, training, and the adoption of technology can drive positive change, especially for women and marginalized groups. Her studies on climate change further underscore her commitment to addressing contemporary challenges facing rural populations and agricultural systems. At UDS, Dr. Mohammed is recognized for her dedication to teaching, mentoring, and research, making significant contributions to the university’s mission of fostering development-oriented education and policy innovation. Her commitment to education, research, and community engagement continues to advance knowledge and practice in rural development and agricultural extension in Ghana and beyond.
