Biography

• An alumnus of the University of Tromsø, Norway, and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana. He is a Senior Lecturer with over 25 years of teaching and research experience, including more than two decades at the University for Development Studies (UDS), Ghana.

   

  His academic expertise covers Organic and Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacognosy and Herbal Drug Development, Molecular Modeling and Cheminformatics with research focused on bioactive natural products, drug discovery, and computational approaches to drug design.

   

  He has held several leadership roles at UDS, including Dean for coordinating UDS students’ academic affairs in Wa and Navrongo, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Head of the Department of Applied Chemistry and Biochemistry, Faculty Examinations Officer and Faculty Quality Assurance Officer.

   

  He has served on several statutory bodies such as the Academic Board, Graduate School Board, University Health Services Committee and Research and Conference Committee. He has also chaired various faculty-level committees including the Appointments and Promotions Committee, Staff Disciplinary Committee, Examination Malpractice Investigations Committee and Budget and Estimates Committee.

   

  He is a former President of the Ghana Science Association (Tamale Branch) and past Coordinator of the Ghana Chemical Society (UDS Branch). Beyond academia, he is an avid football enthusiast.
