STAFF AT THE INTERNAL MEDICINE SUB-BMC COMMEMORATE 2024 WORLD DIABETES DAY WITH OUTREACH ACTIVITIES

In commemoration of World Diabetes Day 2024, the Internal Medicine Sub-BMC hosted a series of impactful activities aimed at raising awareness and promoting diabetes education. The event, which focused on both public education and screening, was a collaborative effort between the medical team, banks, and the general public.

The celebration kicked off with a media campaign that reached thousands of listeners and viewers. Medical professionals from the Internal Medicine appeared on radio and television programs, where they discussed the importance of diabetes prevention, early detection, and management. The team highlighted key facts about the disease, including its risk factors, symptoms, and the critical role of regular health check-ups.

In addition to media outreach, the team organized a series of screenings for both the staff of GCB and ABSA Banks, as well as the general public. These screenings, which included blood sugar level tests and general health checks, were aimed at identifying undiagnosed cases of diabetes and providing early intervention for those at risk. The collaboration with these major banks helped extend the reach of the event, allowing more people to benefit from the health services provided.

The World Diabetes Day activities culminated in a final screening session for the staff of T.T.H., ensuring that the staff were given the opportunity to monitor their health.

The 2024 World Diabetes Day celebration at the Internal Medicine Sub-BMC successfully combined education, public health outreach, and early detection, contributing to the ongoing efforts to combat diabetes in the community.
