The Chief Executive Officer of Tamale Teaching Hospital, Dr. (Med) Abubakari Bawah Abdulai, has called for stronger communication among agencies within the health sector to enhance emergency healthcare delivery and save lives. Dr. Bawah Abdulai made the call when the Chief Executive Officer of the National Ambulance Service, Dr. George Kojo Owusu, paid a courtesy call to the hospital.
According to Dr. Bawah Abdulai, effective communication between ambulance service and receiving health facilities is crucial in ensuring prompt and efficient emergency care. He stressed that the primary responsibility of all agencies under the Ministry of Health is to save lives.
For his part, Dr. Kojo Owusu explained that his visit to the Northern Region was aimed at assessing emergency healthcare delivery in the area. He appealed to management of Tamale Teaching Hospital to continue supporting the ambulance service, particularly in the supply of oxygen.
He noted that all agencies under the ministry are committed to delivering quality healthcare and therefore support efforts to strengthen collaboration and communication among them.
The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to building a stronger partnership between their institutions. As part of immediate plans, the two institutions will explore how personnel from the National Ambulance Service will be attached to Tamale Teaching Hospital for capacity-building training.
