Management has received a delegation from the Ghana Nurses Association–Dallas Fort Worth (GNA-DFW), currently in Tamale on a medical mission. The visit to TTH is one of the key activities on the Association’s itinerary as part of their commitment to supporting healthcare delivery in Ghana.
In his welcome address, the Director of Medical Affairs, Prof. Alhassan Abdul-Mumin, on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer and Management, expressed warm appreciation for the visit. He highlighted the hospital’s critical role in delivering healthcare services to a population of over seven million people across northern Ghana and neighboring regions.
Prof. Abdul-Mumin noted that while the hospital has closed some significant gaps following its upgrade to a teaching hospital - including enhanced training of healthcare professionals and access to tertiary care - it continues to face major challenges with inadequate medical equipment. He therefore described the GNA-DFW’s planned donation as timely and impactful.
The Ghana Nurses Association-DFW announced a donation of medical supplies and equipment to TTH, which will be delivered once the container is cleared at the port. The Association reiterated its mission to advocate for health equity, mobilize medical resources for underserved communities, and support institutions dealing with resource constraints.
The visit marks a step forward in strengthening international partnerships aimed at improving healthcare outcomes in Ghana.
