The Chief Executive Officer of Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH), Dr. (Med.) Abubakari Bawah Abdulai, has commended H.E. President John Dramani Mahama and the Ghana Medical Trust Fund (GMTF) for prioritising the hospital under the Fund's healthcare infrastructure initiative.
Dr. Bawah expressed appreciation for the ongoing construction of a state-of-the-art cardiology centre at TTH and highlighted plans for the establishment of a radiotherapy oncology centre and the provision of an MRI machine under the Ghana Medical Trust Fund. He noted that these interventions would significantly enhance the hospital's capacity to deliver specialised healthcare services to patients across Northern Ghana and beyond.
He further assured the Ghana Medical Trust Fund of the hospital's unwavering commitment to ensuring the successful implementation of all projects under the initiative.
Dr. Bawah made these remarks when a delegation from the Ghana Medical Trust Fund, led by its administrator, Adjoa Obuobia Darko-Opoku, paid a working visit to Tamale Teaching Hospital to strengthen collaboration between the two institutions.
During the visit, the GMTF delegation engaged with management and a section of the staff before inspecting the progress of the ongoing construction of the cardiology centre.
Following the inspection, both management and the GMTF team expressed satisfaction with the progress of work and reaffirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration to ensure the successful completion of the projects for the ultimate benefit of patients and the improvement of healthcare delivery in Ghana.
