The Northern Regional Blood Centre is set to receive accreditation following a meeting between the National Blood Service (NBS) and the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH).
During the meeting, the Chief Executive Officer of the NBS, Dr. Shirley Owusu-Ofori, briefed Management of TTH on the accreditation programme of the Africa Society for Blood Transfusion and outlined what the hospital needs to do to secure the accreditation.
A team from the NBS will work with professionals at TTH for five days to equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills required for the process.
The Director of Medical Affairs, Prof. Alhassan Abdul-Mumin, speaking on behalf of the CEO and Management of TTH, thanked the NBS team for their visit and assured them of Management’s commitment throughout the accreditation process.
